Donut Falls ◉

Difficulty: Beginner

Length: 1.5 miles round trip

Elevation Gain: 200 feet

Dog Friendly: No

Trailhead coordinates (copy + paste): 40.6394, -111.6513

Directions: The coordinates will lead you right to the trailhead. Turn South off of Big Cottonwood Canyon Road past the roadside parking and bathrooms, and continue about a mile down the road until you reach a small parking lot. Follow the trail past the sign, or cross the bridge and hike up that way they both lead to the same destination.

A short hike that's fun for (almost) everyone (sadly, no dogs allowed), the Donut Falls trail takes you along a river to a very aptly named waterfall. There is a shallow river crossing involved, but the water doesn't run too quickly by the time summer hits. The waterfall is still accessible in the winter, but you run the risk of walking right over it like I did in the second photo below. If you feel up for an adventure, climb up the falls and explore from above. The view is great from up there as well.
