Directions: Park at the highest Deer Valley Resort lot, just below Snow Park. Walk up The St. Regis' driveway about 100 feet, then take the trail on your left. Following signs for the St. Regis, switch back and forth up the hill and under the funicular until you come out of the trees just past the hotel. Follow the switchbacks up the ski run all the way to the top of the Jordanelle Express Gondola.
The Deer Crest trail system allows for a bit of choose-your-own-adventuring, but this is the most scenic and least overgrown choice for trekking in this area. Rising above Deer Valley, this trail is a fun way to explore the ski resort during the warmer months. At 7,950 feet, Little Baldy Peak is home to Mountaineer Express and the gondola, and provides great views over the Jordanelle Reservoir. You might choose to continue on the trail or down the ski runs towards Snow Park. As an alternative way to reach the St. Regis, rather than taking the second switchback from the bottom, continue around the hill to the back side, where the Deer Crest gate is located. Take the first trail on your right up the hill, which eventually wraps around and brings you to the top of a small hill on the other side of the hotel, with views over the resort's small lakes. The options are endless and the area is compact, so you can never get too far off track. Note: dogs are not allowed on the mountain.
