Elevation Gain: 600 feet
Dog Friendly: Yes
Trailhead coordinates (copy + paste): 40.7405, -111.5676
Directions: Park at the Ecker Hill park and ride lot, then walk across the street and along the right side of the fields. Take the trail that runs under the power lines heading uphill. Before long you'll meet a sharp left turn—take it, and wind your way up through the trees and around the hill, where you'll find the view in the first photo below. The upper part of the perimeter trail is not being maintained, so it can become quite overgrown by fall. If you do make it to the top of the ridge you'll be treated to a view over Hi Ute Ranch that stretches all the way to the ski resorts (last photo below). Update: As of spring 2021 a sign has been placed near the end of the trail, at the start of the unmaintained section, stating that this is the end of the trail and asking hikers to turn around.
A short and sweet trail that boasts bright greenery in the spring and vibrant colors in the fall, Lower Pinebrook Perimeter is easy to reach and offers a great view from the top. This hike is perfect for days when you have a small window of time and want to avoid some of Park City's busier trails. On the way down, after the trail has wrapped back around onto the first hill, you'll notice a steep path heading down into the grove on your right. Take this route on the way back for some new scenery, and enjoy the peace and quiet of the forested area. This trail comes out at the Ecker Hill ropes course, just across the field from where you started.
Beautiful! Will this be good for snowshoeing in the winter?
