Everything in Jackson feels like it is in the center of town, and this hike is no exception. A short walk from the square, this trail heads right from the base of Snow King Resort to the summit, with no funny business in between. A series of switchbacks will take you in and out of the trees, across ski runs, and under chairlifts. The trail is uphill the entire way, and every step pays off as you rise higher above town, the Tetons coming more into view all the way. From the 7,808-foot summit you can walk a small loop trail to catch views of the South, or head East a short ways to ascend a neighboring mountaintop. The cost to ride the chairlift down is $10, but the scenic walk back down may just be the best part.
